Dr Jane Gilbert graduated from St. Mary's Hospital Medical School in London. Her training covers a broad spectrum of specialities from obstetrics to paediatrics.

She is a broadcaster, journalist and author with a special interest in maternal and child health, researching and writing regularly for Practical Parenting magazine. Her medical career has been documented by the popular BBC series 'Doctors to be' and later 'Doctors at Large'. Jane is currently Yorkshire Television's TV doctor. She researches and presents 'Call Dr Jane' a live health and beauty programme and 'You are what you eat' which investigates the importance of nutrition in treating and preventing disease.

Jane has two young daughters and is very aware, from both personal and professional experience, of the demands on the body during pregnancy and in the post-natal period.
